Our summer reading program theme this year is Dig Into Reading.  Maybe you could dig a little deeper and try a more challenging read this summer?  Try a classic that you haven’t read since high school (or should have read).  Try a non-fiction book for a change.  Maybe use this summer as an opportunity to read something that is more meaty than the typical summer reading lighter entertainment.

                                                       Worm Race          June 17

In past summers, there has been a lot of confusion at the circulation desk especially during our awesome Monday programs.  We have had too many materials on the shelf still checked out to folks.  So this summer we would like to try a new Returns Box on the table by the desk.  Help us to help you a little more efficiently!

The Bookmark society will be meeting June 27th at 6:30.  They will be discussing The Hobbit by  J. R. R. Tolkien.  (A really great book.) They have a great time and would love to see new faces.

Keep us in mind. We could use materials for ongoing projects: Paint store gift cards & painting  supplies and a small round cafĂ© table & chairs.

Are  there some new technologies that you may have spotted at another library that you would like to see at Wornstaff?  Some suggestions: e-books, play-aways, Blu-ray DVD’s. Or would you like to see more new audio, more new large print?  Please let us know!

Reading is a Family Affair
During the summer months:
*Read to young children daily.
*Read a chapter book to your school-age children by reading aloud one or two chapters every day.
*Encourage your children to spend time reading and looking at books.
*Talk with your children about what they are reading.
*Attend programs at the library!

If you find you need a good laugh, an old website but a really good one is: icanhas.cheezburger.com

I can always find something to laugh hard enough to make my tummy hurt.
